Palermo Art Hostel opened in April 2007, a new concept in accommodation. The first cultural hostel in the country, located right in Palermo neighbourhood, the heart of the African-Uruguayan rhythm, 2 blocks from the rambla, 4 blocks from the beach and few metres from the center and legendary Rodó Park.
The hostel, built in a house over 100 years old, has 700 square metres and is arranged as follows: 4 to 10 beds shared dormitories private rooms 6 bathrooms 24 hs Reception Breakfast (toast, mermelade, butter, caramel, biscuits, fruit, milk, tea, coffee, cocoa) from 8.30am to 10.30am 2 equipped kitchens computers with Internet access, WiFi public telephone sheets and towels (only in private rooms) cleaning service 24 hs hot water individual lockers, safe box laundry service 24 hs medical emergency tourist assistance bike rental libray board games TV and DVD, films, music bar and pool and terrace.
What makes Palermo ArtHostel a unique place is its multicultural spectrum, that aims to promote different art areas: photographic exhibitions, paintings works, books presentations, video clips, short movies and a large mural by Sebastián Sáez, are some of the many expresions of art that the guests will be able to enjoy, as long as they do not want to exhibit their own work.
Palermo ArtHostel is not simply a hostel, is a cultural bridge between the people from Montevideo and our visitors, that gives the possibility of exchanging the different forms of expresion with the world.

Directions
| Bus: | The ómnibus terminal is 15 minutes away. To reach the hostel by ómnibus, take the 300 or 407 line. You have to get off at Avenida Gonzalo Ramírez y Gaboto. The taxi costs about 80 UYU (2,45€). |
| Parking: | At 3 blocks from the hostel there is a fee parking that works 24 hs. |
| Sea port: | Montevideo´s Port is 10 minutes by taxi from the hostel. You can also reach us by ómnibus which stop is 4 blocks away. The taxi costs about 70 UYU (2,15€). |
| Location: | We are located in Palermo neighbourhood, the heart of the candombe, which is the African-Uruguayan rythm. We are 3 blocks from the beach and 8 blocks from the main avenue, Avenida 18 de Julio, where every Sunday the traditional Tristán Navaja Fair is held. We are also very near Rodó Park, traditional fun park in Montevideo, with attractions, meals square and next to the summer theatre, where the Carnaval Competition is held. Every Sunday the neighbourhood´s Customed Group turns up at the hostel´s corner, so you will not have to go far to live our culture. |
| Airport: | We are 40 minutes from Carrasco International Airport. To reach us you can take the ómnibus or a taxi. If you take the ómnibus, take any ómnibus that says MONTEVIDEO. The price is 25 UYU (0,76€) and you have to get off in the corner of Uruguay Street and Minas. From there walk 13 blocks or take the ómnibus 17 in Uruguay and Tristán Narvaja Street and get off in Gonzalo Ramírez y Gaboto Street. The taxi costs about 400 UYU (12,28€). |
