Melsungen is an attractively located, small youth hostel with many leisure facilities.
The town centre is just a 10 min walk away and the mountainous area of Kurhessen is close by. The hostel has a capacity for 128 people in 1- to 5-bedded rooms on four floors. All rooms are nicely furnished and have separate washing facilities and shared shower/WC. A part of the house has disability access and one fully equipped bathroom has wheelchair access.
The small Melsungen youth hostel specializes in unusual programmes. Quality service, friendliness and good food are just as important to us as interesting activities.
We always tread new paths, for instance in the collaboration with our external partner "SYNERGIE Soziale Bildung", managing educational programmes dealing with issues such as conflict training, extremism and violence.
But we also emphasize ADVENTURE with additional educational guides or just our regular guides. Our packages are well designed and are partly certified with the “GUT-DRAUF” quality label (and so is our hostel).
Since November 2002 we are officially certified as a “FAMILY-FRIENDLY YOUTH HOSTEL“, in July 2004 the hostel was certified according to the Serqua Quality Management System and July 2005 it was TÜV certified.

| Location: | Melsungen youth hostel is located in central Germany, about 30km from Kassel with very good transport links. The town centre is just a 10 min walk away and the mountainous area of Kurhessen is close by. The town of Melsungen is on the A7 (Flensburg-Ulm), exit Melsungen. At the first traffic lights turn right (direction Rotenburg), at the next traffic lights turn left (direction train station). After 500m turn right into first railway underpass and onto Lindenbergstraße, then take a sharp turn to the right and the YH is on your left. Parking is in a field right of the YH driveway. Please respect speed limits in Melsungen. |
