Mellbystrand has a long tradition of welcoming tourists. They first lived in the small fishing cottages along the beach. Today Mellbystrand something of a summer paradise with Sweden's longest sandy beach and a wide range of activities which include a resort to.
The hostel is an enclosed courtyard and a former children's summer camp. The farm has a summer and nearby is an outdoor swimming pool, golf and tennis courses and excellent restaurants. The hostel is only about a hundred yards down the beach and ocean baths.
For those interested in fishing has Lagan one of the country's best salmon and trout waters. A bike path passes right outside the hostel to Laholm and Halmstad. For those who just want to stroll the beach is wonderful to experience - either at the water or in the undulating sand dunes.
