Staff was very kind, and the room was clean, too. Because there was not time for me, I wanted the service of the laundry.

As per all hostels internet is a rip off. $40.00 a week? Come on. get with the times here. Everywhere else in the world you go you can get free WIFI and even alot of the other hostels in Australia as well...YHA why are you lagging? There was a few things in the room that apparently have been there for a while as said by someone staying there a week already. there was a cup with mint and other herbs that was rotton in water...you can tell House Keeping is a rarity. Anyways the Rooftop is AMAZING esp during the sunset. Decent hostel but I think i prefer Metro

Only negative is that the location is that there is a lot of road noise which is not particularly good for a family stay

Great location from main street/transportation to ather cities, comfortable room and clean facilities. Having nice cafe and lounge at ground floor with everyday event. But certain staffs were indifferent regarding my questions of visitor attractions and advised me to search on the internet, even there was any guest un reception except me. Little bit disappointed for that.

Very clean, modern facilities, but twin room (bunks) was very small w/small desk & chair; little room to move or for storing. Small lockers below lower bunk. Overcharged at check-in but refunded upon request. Reading lamps both missing bulbs; told electrician was required to replace, so no joy during our stay (2 nights). Close to rail station and tram stop. Rooftop view level 5 (for smokers).

Very friendly reception team who offered lots of advice and ideas. Corridors are a bit dark in the evening. Separate lounges on each floor mean it is less easy to meet other travellers, but small cosy lounges and kitchen areas. Computers x 2 in each lounge area. No en suite facilities, small 3/4 dorm female only rooms available for women travellers. Showers and toilets very clean and near to dorms and rooms. Tram stop outside the hostel, train station and bus terminal 10 minutes walk away.

Our reservation # 2092874242 & 2092874236 for Jun 11 and Jun 12 nights was cancelled by Central YHA without any preinformation, without any real reason, without any apologize! And the receiption was rude and unpatient to us. A nightmire for our holiday at Melbourne!!
