From YHA Medway, you can uncover our maritime heritage at Chatham’s Royal Dockyard Museum, while literature lovers will enjoy a visit to Charles Dickens’ former home at Eastgate House in Rochester. The hostel is opposite Capstone Country Park and The North Downs Way and Sustrans Route 1 are both within a few miles. | Bus: | From Chatham Waterfront Bus Station Stand A (on Globe Lane)- take the Bus # 114 or Bus # 166 to go to Hopewell Drive (on Capstone Road). From there follow straight on after the first roundabout and take a right at the second roundabout. At the third roundabout, please follow the road on the right hand side signposted Chatham Ski Centre for about 5 minutes (through Capstone Park & Capstone Park Carpark). This walk may take up to 25 minutes. |

| We stayed in a family room with two adults and two children. it was a little room but nice. the breakfast area is nice, too. if you like to go to london you can take a train from chatham. it takes 45 minutes and it has a save parking place.

| This hostel does not advertise that it has no public transport available. It cost us 7 to 8 pounds twice a day to get a taxi to the nearest bus station to catch a bus to Maidstone (12 miles away) then 6.50 each for a day pass on the bus. They were in turmoil when we arrived staff knew nothing. No information on buses etc although were told a 10 min walk to bus station YEAH RIGHT it took 45 mins.... would have been great in rain. No internet service. Our room - a double room - had 2 bunks which creaked every time you moved the bottom sheet didn't fit and the room was 6foot by 7 foot with a sky light NO AIR and we arrived on a day when it was 33 deg..... . | ||
