The Apuano Hostel is situated in a Villa within a 5000-square-meter park, just ten meters from the beach. An ideal place for a vacation, it offers the opportunity for trips to the following: the backcountry, stunning pine forests, caves of Marmo di Carrara (10 km), Pisa (50 km), Lucca (40 km) and Firenze (120 km). Closer trips include the Luni Amphitheater, the Marmo di Carrara Museum, the Roman Duomo in Carrara, the medieval castle in Massa, and the nearby Apuano Alps - or, by boat, the Cinque Terre.

| Perfect for a short stay at the beach! (The hostel is clean it is situated directly at the beach). The bus stop ist directly in front of the hostel (costs about 1,50 from carrara avanza). If you want a big place to "party", this is not the right place to go to (lots of families...) but the hostel also has a bar with cheap drinks and I liked the atmosphere there... | ||

| The Hostel is nice, cheap and it's really close to the seaside. The only problem: rooms are for 6-12 person and so your comfort will depend much on the behaviour of your roommates... | ||

| If you plan on coming here but aren't from italy or don't have a car, this might not be the place for you. It is cheap, but there are better places to visit. The hostel is in the middle of Italian nowhere. Cheap but you have to pay for brkfst, lunch and dinner, internet, etc. Beds are ok. No soap or towels, hot water only at certain times. Do your research before coming. If you want to read a book ob a public beach near cheap gelato stands, then it's the place for you. If you want to visit Italy, go elsewhere! | ||

| We loved the location and price. The room is plenty large enough to be comfortable. Bring a power strip if you want to be able to plug things in, because I only found one outlet in the room. Bathrooms are good. Shared shower had some complaints about no hot water. I'm not sure if it was user error, because my shower was always hot. Breakfast was nothing great, but it is inexpensive, so tolerable. Best thing is that you are right on the beach. It's a public beach and there's nothing fancy, but it was much less crowded than the rest of the nearby beaches and we enjoyed it. Parking is good if you have a vehicle. It seems a bit out of the way if you are walking. You'll need a flashlight because there are no lights at your bed. You share a balcony with other rooms. There's a nice view. | ||

Unhelpful, unfriendly staff
Wifi access only available outside and only for 1 hour (and depending on the staff member you talk to you must pay)
To get in after 11pm you must call the security guard. This is not a good arrangent for travellers who do not have an italian phone.
No secure baggage storage
When we arrived we took a private room so that the hostel could save space in their male and female dorms. We were charged extra and asked to leave before 9am even though checkout isnt officially until 10. This is just unprofessional. | ||

| The hostel is in a lovely old house and close to the beach. My room faced the ocean and had a balcony which I enjoyed very much. The hostel is a little out of the way and the bus service is not the most convenient. The internet at the hostel was not reliable. | ||
