If you fancy a change of scenery, you’re in the right place. Located in the wonderful region of Hautes Fagnes, not far from Germany, you are sure to have an enjoyable stay at Malmedy Youth Hostel.
Those of a dynamic, sporty and curious nature will be drawn to this location. There are a host of organised activities, such as hiking, climbing and archery, along with cultural trips (visits to Malmundarium, Stavelot Abbey). But we are well aware that not everyone comes for Olympic Games or in training for Trivial Pursuit; so we have armchairs and a bar full of regional tipples if that’s what you’re after…

| Very good hostel. Very friendly staff, good location for Formula One (with car), good parking space, 15 min walk to Malmedy and a lovely location.
Will stay there again. | ||

| When booking I chose a 'double room' - this it turns out is a room with with four bunk beds where you have to pull one across to join the other, but there is still a huge gap between the two. The rooms are designed to sleep 4 in bunk beds, certainly not 2 wanting a double bed. The beds themselves were very uncomfortable with thin plasticy mattresses. This is fairy average for a hostel but I don't think the price reflects this. Had I been paying less I would have been more tolerant but I've stayed in nicer B&B's for the same or less money. Also, upon arrival we were met with an extra charge by YHA that stipulated a 3 euro a night, per person additional cost if we didn't have membership. So that was hardly a welcoming start to our stay. The area is lovely and we were going to the F1 that weekend in Spa so was very convenient for that. | ||

| we were very, very dissapointed to find the room was NOT a Double bed as we had booked, and shown on our Booking confirmation, but two bunk beds. We were told there are NO double beds in any Hostel, if this is correct, then why can you book a DOUBLE room on the web site. Because of this we checked out after ONE nite, if you would like to offer a refund for the second night, that would be greatly appreciated, and make up for the issue. I look forward to a reply.
yours sincerly,
