The hostel is situated in a green area close to the Old Town. It has its own grounds where hostellers can play and relax.

Facilities and activities include rental of game and sports equipment, table tennis, barbecue, football pitch, campfire, large grass play area etc. In town: sports hall (approx. 2 km), thermal spa, bowling centre, outdoor swimming pool, gondola lake and completely preserved 2,7km town wall with the “Rabenturm” (ravens’ tower) and many historical churches, fire-fighting museum, skating par, bus trips to the Worbis bear enclosure and to the Hainich national park… The town is right in Germany’s centre.
