Ideally placed for exploring to the east or the west, Loch Ness Youth Hostel is situated halfway along the banks of the infamous Loch Ness. Only 40 minutes from the newly-created city of Inverness and about two hours from the Isle of Skye, there's plenty to do in the area. The Great Glen long distance path passes the door, and the end-to-end Great Glen cycling route is nearby.
From the hostel there is easy access to the loch shore, and you will have plenty of opportunities for Nessie-watching from most of the bedrooms. You can also take a picture together with our own hostel Nessie down at the beach. Or you could have a walk up the hills close to the hostel with a great view around Loch Ness to spot its famous resident.
Our well-appointed and brilliantly equipped kitchen is ideal for culinary experimentation and our little hostel shop has basic tinned foods, snacks and drinks for sale. Also don't miss: the Official and the Original Monster Exhibition Centres in Drumnadrochit (15km) Urquhart Castle & visitor centre, sitting impressively on the edge of Loch Ness (10km) Jacobite Cruises from/to Inverness and Urquhart Castle - Tomnahurich Bridge (40km) The Clansman Centre, Fort Augustus (15km) Scotsman Cruises, Fort Augustus (15km).
And lastly, if you want to get away from everything, head up to Glen Affric and walk this stunning area with its native forests and waterfalls and Munros. Internet access at the Hostel. Private rooms available.

Customer Reviews Loch Ness SYHA

| hannah the warden and her home baking make this hostel not just very good but an excellent place to stay - she is cheerful friendly helpful and welcoming.
The only negative factor perhaps is traffic noise through the night if your room faces the road and the lack of sockets in the rooms.
