Room smell of sewer gas reported to desk and committed to fix but smells like they have a problem

Fair efficiency of service relates to the ineffectiveness of the night manager to manage a rowdy group of youngsters during the night which disrupted several of the other guests. And this accounts for the poor comfort rating since our family did not sleep as the noise continued for about 3 hours in middle of the night without respite. Otherwise we found the hostel pleasant and good value for money.

really impressive location, nice staff BUT first they did not get the booking right (8 bed dorms male and female instead of the doble bed twin room, and after i couldn´t reach them for ages, they finally corrected the booking. when whe arrived, the booking was still wrong, giving us a private room but with bunk beds - we´re a couple for chrissakes :-( really annoying and staff not really willing to deal with my complaint. otherwise good facilities, clean, there should be paper towels or at least an airdryer in the bathrooms...

We stayed 6 different places in our holiday and this was the absolute low point of the entire holiday. We had to pay 131 pund and 90 pence and we had 131 pund and 86 penny, but no we could not wait to give him the money to the next day, but have to give him 20 pund more and we got return in coins. What a rotten thing to start with. The hostel is clearly for people with car, because it is very hard to climb the long way up to the hostel by foot and with a lot of luggage. It is not just done with having a wonderful location, you need to be serviceminded too. I would never ever stay here again !

This hostel is very pretty. It has lots of charater and is very much worth a stop if you are staying in the area or heading further north.

We were very happy staying at this hostel and in was made even more special by the attention we were afforded by the 2 chefs in the kitchen. They were extremely frieindly and went out of there way to make sure we were looked after. The food by the way was very good.

Sorry to say that, but I think Loch Lomond is overrated due to the outside. I booked it simply for need and not to stay in a big house and I would say OK, but not impressive. Staff was really very friendly and helpful, but let alone the fact that the hostel closes from 10am - 5pm is a bummer. There is nothing around where you could go on a rainy day if you do not have a car and you cannot stay in the hostel. Food is "OK" - one day was great the other was poor so it adds up (for me) to mediocre. I rather stay in Fort William two more days, but I would not see any reason to return. Surely much better than Broadford, but still.
