This lively hostel is part of a 'Jugendpalast' (Palace of Youth) also housing a radio station, a music school and a press agency for young people. The hostel is situated on the edge of Locarno's gracious old town and makes a good starting point for hiking and biking in the Ticino valleys. Set on the banks of Lake Maggiore, Locarno also makes a good base for watersports.

| We were disappointed that after ordering the dinner meal we found out that it wasn't available, but they emailed us promptly and it is understandable off-season like that. I recommend posting that info on the web page (if it was there we didn't see it).
Paper towels in the dispensers in the washrooms would be nice.
These are minor complaints; our stay was overall very positive. | ||

| Switzerland has the best Hostels and I guess this one is the best one in Switzerland! Excellent location, the staff could not be more friendly; super hyper clean; breakfast is excellent and you can see all the kitchen. It is a WONDERFUL place to stay. Very well managed, looks like a 3 / 4 star hotel. Excellent in every aspect I can possibly think about. | ||
