Lillehammer Hostel is located AT the bus- and train station in the city centre of Lillehammer. You’ll find our reception in the train station building – the rooms in the same building. Here you have an ideal starting point for shopping, attractions, restaurants, cafés, hiking and other great experiences Lillehammer can offer. The shopping street in Lillehammer is the heart of the town, and only 100 m walking distance from the hostel.
All our rooms are equipped with shower, toilet, free wireless Internet and TV. Bed linen and towels are included in the price and we have made your bed before you arrive. Enjoy making your meals in our fully equipped guest kitchen. We offer free parking. We have renovated all our rooms and common areas in 2011 and are proud to invite you to enjoy the breakfast in our new café. In the café we can offer you espresso based coffee, homemade cakes, fresh soup and salad.

Most of the sights like the open air museum Maihaugen, Lillehammer Art Museum, Sigrid Undsets home Bjerkebæk, the Olympic Museum and the Olympic Park is within walking distance. From the station there are buses leaving for the family park Hunderfossen and Lilleputthammer. In the wintertime you will find busses to the skiarea of Hafjell, Sjusjøen and Nordseter.
Lillehammer has a lot of activities to offer. Lillehammer Ski Resorts is a cooperation including 5 ski centres. Hafjell Alpine centre is the ski centre situated nearest the hostel. Hafjell is located at the entrance of the Gudbrandsdalen valley, 15 km north of Lillehammer. Hafjell Alpine centre offers winner experiences for skiers of all levels. 16 lifts, including the Gondola, serves the 835 vertical metres from the base to the top of the mountain. The area offers a wide range of cross country skiing alternatives, including approx. 350 km. of prepared cross-country trails near Lillehammer. The tracks run all the way to Lillehammer, and even connect up with the Olympic tracks at the Birkebeineren Ski Stadium.

| Room basic and quite small but clean and comfortable. It faced out onto train platform but was well insulated so noise from trains not too much of a problem. Having access to a kitchen was great but kitchen could be much better equipped. There were 2 very large fridges but only 2 cooking hobs, both very close together, and each had 2 rings but the only pans available were very large and so two pans did not fit onto the same hob at the one time. The hostel was not very busy when we were there but we still had to wait most nights to cook dinner as really only one person/group of people could use the cookers at the one time due to the lack of space. | ||

| Excellent staff always cheerful and friendly - multi lingual. The situation at Lillehammer station is very good and the restaurant and general ambience is excellent really nicely done. The members lounge and kitchen is also a very nice place to sit

| Considering that most people probably visit Lillehammer for outdoors activities, the hostel could not be better located: it is literally within the train/bus station building.The tourist information office is also in the building. The town is also just a very short walk away. Breakfast is very good and served in what is otherwise the stations's café. Kitchen was always superclean and is spacious enough, though basic things such as tea, pepper, cooking oil, dishes soap, etc. could have been provided, as it is a bit inconvenient for guests staying only for a short time to have to buy them. | ||
