| Maybe you could offer a little more toppings on the baguette at the breakfast buffet, like slices of ham and cheese, and even slices of paprika and cucumber. Otherwise a very good hostel, good internet connection | ||

| Did rather remind us of a Soviet Holiday Barracks | ||

| Our stay was fine, the staff friendly. The accommodation though needs urgent restoration. One thing to consider; a family room up to 8 people. The breakfast was fine, as was the fact the hostel has its own parking lot.
All in all we had a good time. | ||

| Annoying that the hostel is shut from 11-3 everyday and most tourist information is in French. | ||

| There is only one key per room and if someone goes out with the key you get locked out! Frustrating! Also the kitchen has no plates, or cutlery! There was also no hot water in the showers for 2 days in Nov! Wrong time of year for cold showers. But a great location for exploring Lille and a 10 min walk to the train stations. | ||

| Am surprised you have to leave the hostel between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm and hand in keys to reception. If you are in a dormitory only one person gets the key for the room and the rooms do not have lockers. Toilets did not always have toilet paper and had to ask at Reception. The hostel has many rules which we understand but they are written like the 10 commandmants - thou shall be quite between 10 m and 7 am but many rules not adhered to. Like one night some girls kept making noise until 2am. The lift was not available except for staff. Would not stay there again and saw another hosteller not stay for the total time booked for similar complaints. If you are doing a tour of the Western Front stay elsewhere like Ieper. The kitchen had a table for 6 people, a microwave and a stovetop. The stovetop worked one night and not the next. Very minimum cutlery and crokery if any at all. | ||

| The hostel is run down and uncomfortable. However there is good potential. The building is well located and appears sound. It must be recognised that a substantial investment for refurbishing will be needed to provide a very substantial improvement. Everything needs freshening up with an imaginative redesign of the layout of the building, upgrading and replacing most of the furniture including beds, chairs and computers. It will be necessary to improve and upgrade every part of the hostel. This investment will be essential and substantial. Lille deserves an excellent YHA so I hope the necessary planning and capital raising is successful. There will be a subsequent price rise to clients. But the size and location of the hostel is such that the investment will be able to be afforded. Hostel clients will be prepared to accept inevitable increases provided the upgrade is well done and presents much better kitchen, good sleeping, ablution and socialising environments. | ||
