Ah, Liège! What more can we say about this town? A hive of activity throughout the year, world capital of student folklore, nerve centre of Belgian football and so many other things. Liège Youth Hostel is in perfect harmony with the spirit of the town. Party the night away in a fabulous setting, every night of the week? No fear! Well, we will let you sleep in.

The hostel is a 5 minute walk from the buzz of the town centre, in a decidedly young and vibrant part of town. For those keen to explore, Liège (and specifically the hostel) is an ideal base from which to visit the major tourist cities in Belgium and Europe. Brussels, Bruges, Cologne, Maastricht…here you come!

And apart from that, don’t forget to sample at least one of our famous Liège waffles. If you don’t, it’s as if you never set foot in Liège.

Each year from 12th to 15th August, the youth hostel offers free concerts. And so on the penultimate weekend of June :that's "la Fête de la Musique". Festive atmosphere guaranteed. If you are looking for rest, you'd better postpone your trip!

Great hostel, very beautiful and very central in the city. Nice common spaces, with a bar and free wifi.I was in a single room, everything was ok (only one complain: the shower, very complicate to use, expecially for mixing hot and cold water - but maybe it's made on purpose by the hostels to not use too much water!).

Quite good, very clean, modern hostel with a good breakfast. There was also wifi available, although I was not travelling with my laptop. Watch out that the hostel is a long way away from the train station. From the station take the left fork up to the main road then turn left to head into town. The hostel is the other side of the river. The city is being redeveloped so there are quite alot of roadworks taking place, though the hostel area was quiet and pleasant. One difficulty was finding places nearby to eat as a vegetarian. The rooms are all en-suite which is convenient, though the one I was in was fairly small. They have an early check-in open from around 3pm, and 24-hr access with a card key. Downstairs the reception area is coulurful and spacious, although you may have to wait for a member of staff to appear. There is a seating area, information leaflets and some games tables available too.

In most Belgian youth hostels the breakfast is poor.

We had some trouble parking the car in that street because we were stolen and thieves broke the glass of the car. For next travellers someone should advise them to take care of this things. In spite of this, I should say it was a very nice hostel.

The staff was very friendly and always provided help when requested. Other positive points were the free wireless internet, lockers inside the room and a bar with beverages. The negative point goes to the lack of cleanliness to my room. It was not cleaned even once. I do not know why they did so.
