Ratings

The million-dollar view from this Hostel will add a whole new meaning to your trip. Located right on the lakefront, with unobstructed views to the mountains beyond. A large cosy lounge with a log fire in winter overlooks the lake and is the ultimate place for watching the incredible shades of blue of this glacier fed lake. There is no bank or ATM (cash point) in Tekapo.

For your enjoyment our Hostel has a piano, a guitar, a hostel cat, a DVD player and free DVD's, games and puzzles galore. Amongst our staff the following languages are spoken: Japanese (fluent), Mandarin (fluent), French and Spanish. Qualmark has ranked this hostel as a 3 star plus. YHA New Zealand is a non-profit membership organisation. Non-members pay an additional NZ$3 per person per night fee upon check-in. Memberships can be purchased online or at the hostel.
