The good thing about the Youth Hostel in Lagos is that it's close to everything. If you stay here, you're within the town centre, so you are near the shops and all the facilities you could need for a wonderful holiday. Near the marina, you'll find a small boat that takes you to Meia Praia, an enormous extension of white sand. Other beaches hide behind the cliffs, and the water is a magical green, from the yellow of the sun and the deep blue sea. Going back to the city, you can enjoy its lively nightlife, checking out the many bars filled with foreign voices. Don't be shy; this may be the beginning of a long-lasting friendship. Visit for two days and you will be tempted to stay a month or even longer. The legendary beaches and bars keep people coming back year after year.

|Apart from the fact that we saw a huge cockroach crawling around, acoustics are very bad. You can hear every step in the hall, on the stairs, every littel couch or every door that opens or closes.
Also the breakfast room is dirty. Unclean, sticky and dusty surfaces... We did not feel at ease at all.
This Hostel was the worst of a series where we stayed in Portugal.

|Excellent location and very lively, which is fun, but could be a disadvantage as well, as the tiled corridors carry noise quite well.|

|Hostel very suitable for young people, not far from the shopping center, a bit 'far from the beach. Shared bathrooms and rooms are clean. The breakfast is a bit 'poor and not very good in comparison to what you can do in pastry shops.|

|during the night, people in the hostel are always drunk, make noises all night long and it is impossible to rest. Nobody during our stay supervised the hostel during the night. As we are travellers that need to rest during the night, we passed 2 terrible nights there. |

|I stayed at double ensuite and a value for money could have been better. Room had no soundproof, there was a tv, which didn't work.|

|Lagos is a tiny town; you can walk from one end to the other in 30 minutes. I loved being inside of the walled city until I wanted to sleep. The noise from the bar across the street and the street traffic did not stop until after 2:00 A.M. In the morning, the town is very quiet. Families are out by lunch time and the locals come out to stroll in the afternoon.
The kitchen is large enough but needs to be better stocked with dishes, pots and pans.
