The good thing about the Youth Hostel in Lagos is that it's close to everything. If you stay here, you're within the town centre, so you are near the shops and all the facilities you could need for a wonderful holiday. Near the marina, you'll find a small boat that takes you to Meia Praia, an enormous extension of white sand. Other beaches hide behind the cliffs, and the water is a magical green, from the yellow of the sun and the deep blue sea. Going back to the city, you can enjoy its lively nightlife, checking out the many bars filled with foreign voices. Don't be shy; this may be the beginning of a long-lasting friendship. Visit for two days and you will be tempted to stay a month or even longer. The legendary beaches and bars keep people coming back year after year.

| This was the best youth hostel so far I have visited in Portugal. Very cozy with the coutyard where we could sit in the evening after preparing dinner and listen to music, better than in a restaurant. Location was perfect in the historic part of town, close to all attractions and the ocean. We enjoyed Lagos all by foot. No car necessary. | ||

| Too many school groups that totally took over the kitchen and eating area making it very hard to make a meal and find somewhere to sit down and eat. | ||

| 中庭、廊下で大きな声で話をすると、やかましく落ち着かない1階の部屋は道行く人からも見えて落ち着きません。部屋が暗い | ||

| Unfortunately, we didn't stay there. The night we had a sleeper/couch and overnite train to Portugal was the night that Portuguese Rail workers chose to have a strike. I called the Lisbon hostel first and they were VERY HOSTILE!!! very unprofessional and REFUSED TO give us a refund.
Then I called the Lagos Hostel (HI!!!) and the person there was WONDERFUL and said, "It wasn't your fault. we won't charge you anything." We were so thrilled w. their treatment (LAGO not Lisbon) that we later tried to fit Lagos into our schedule. We do, hopefully, plan to go to Lagos (NOT LISBON)and probably not buy a Portugal Eurrail pass! ha!
Thanks! We should have signed up for a Hostel International in Lisbon instead of the ratty, rude Lisbon Centre Hostel, Rua Andrade Curvo 46. They have not heard the last from us yet!!! I will be documenting and complaining!
but not of Lagos, Portugal. Again I say they were very understanding and wonderful. | ||

| The young at the hostel was so friendly. When I check in, he knew my name and he even mentioned the nice places to see in Lagos, without asking. What a service-minded staff! | ||
