| Nice and friendly atmosphere in a shiny new building. A bit cold in the winter, but you can turn on the heating in your room.
The bed comes at a fair price.
Going into town (by bus) always takes some time, though. Use the one-day bus pass to get around in Kyoto! | ||

| I liked the hostel very much in every way except one. The fact that showers close down at 9am is disappointing. Sometimes if you want to go out for some exercise you can't unless you do it very early b/c you cannot take a shower later. If you want to rest in and take a shower late you can't either. I hope the schedule can be expanded. Other than that the hostel was great. | ||

| Everything is good except for location a bit out from city(about 1 hour by bus), inconvenience to move around at night as lesser bus service, last bus from city is before 9pm. | ||

| Really 5 star hostel. Beautiful, extremely clean and peaceful despite large size. Interesting evening events laid on too. | ||

| The hostel was very nice. It's probably one of the nicest hostels. The only detraction is the location. It's not too far from a bus stop but the buses in Kyoto don't run that late which makes it a bit more complicated. | ||

| A really good youth hostel, one of the best I have ever been in any of the countries I have visited.. very good relationship price-quality.. it is worth it even if it is a little bit far away from city center.. | ||

| This was one of the most pleasant places I've stayed in while traveling. The staff was friendly, and spoke English pretty well, along with a few other languages. The building and grounds were beautiful and the furniture comfortable. I didn't need to worry about the security of my belongings because there was adequate lockable storage in the room. The only real downside was that it was rather far away from everything and anything, but that was easily remedied with a bus pass (available for purchase at the reception desk) and three bus routes that stopped just outside the hostel. Each night there was a free activity somehow related to Japanese and local culture, and the activities were quite enjoyable. I would recommend this youth hostel to anyone planning to spend time in Kyoto. | ||
