Kumamoto castle is within 10 minutes by bus that is one of the three most famous castles in Japan and stone walls called “Musha-kaeshi” is very beautiful. Cherry blossoms in spring are wonderful. Various historic spot tours such as visiting the footprints of Miyamoto Musashi, a great swordsman. The YH provides a wonderful relay point to visit to Aso, Amakusa, Oita, Miyazaki and Kagoshima.
