Customer Reviews Kranjska Gora - Nika

| Apparently, there are two locations for the Hostel Nika, but could only find one called Porentov Dom on Cicare Street. Totally agree with Lonely Planet review, quoting "institutional and depressing". It's a cranky old place. Some could say it's simple, but I think it could at least be clean. It feeled like we were the only ones staying there, but the showers were simply disgusting. The bed sheets were stained like if someone ate soup while doing the bed. Would not recommend it. Must agree it is cheap, hosts are friendly and the breakfast is great. | ||

| the only thing we really missed is a kitchen, what the guests can use. we took a lot of food with us as we went to ski and watch the ski jumping world cup, and we couldn't store or heat it. finally we asked someone on the reception (what is not in the same building) if anyone can heat us some food. i was in a lot of hostels before and i got used to that there is a facility to do all this, make a tee, cook, or use the fridge, so it was very inconvenient. | ||

| Very simple place, don't expect anything special, but considering the cheap price, it's a good deal. I've been there twice, this time I was on the third floor and it's a bit smaller and more noisy than the first floor where I've been last year. The fair haired girl at the reception is very, very nice and helpful, it was a pleasure to deal with her. | ||

| I had a reservation for Nika YH but was upgraded to Porentov Dom YH at no extra charge. Both have the same reception at Porentov Dom. The hostel is on main Ljubljana-Jesenice-Ratece road and only 15-20 mins walk from the town centre and ski slopes. The room was clean, warm and cheap - I don't look for more. | ||
