KokosNuss is the longest established resort facility in the town of Coron. If you are looking for an "action holiday", this is it. If you are looking for such things as the best wreck diving in the Philippines, sea safaris, snorkeling and island hopping, Coron is the place for you. But do not expect mass-tourism or five-star hotels here. We are proud to live at the "Last Frontier".

In 1991, Rudolf Weih, a German national from Grosskrotzenburg am Main, decided to end his career as a high paid Diplomate Engineer at the Research & Development section of Honeywell Company. After an 8-month journey through the Palawan Archipelago, he finally decided to settle down in Coron Town on Busuanga Island, and started a small tourist business.

At this time, Coron was still a typical Philippine fishermen's town. There was not any tourism development so far, but he saw a big potential for it. In 1992 he opened his KokosNuss Garden Resort and Restaurant with a small eatery and four cottages. During the past years, tourism in Coron grew and KokosNuss Resort expanded in size and quality.

Today, KokosNuss Resort consists of 24 individual cottages and bungalows, a large tropical garden with garden chairs and hammocks, and a delightful garden restaurant where you can enjoy fresh seafoods and homemade specials in Asian and European style.

We are located inlands just before the local hospital on the way into town. The 950-meter separation between "downtown" Coron and KokosNuss means a QUIET, PEACEFUL and RESTFUL environment for your stay in Coron. Your neighbors at KokosNuss will be the trees and shrubs in the garden.

We can help you find the best tours and arrange buses, jeepneys, boats and flights to other interesting places within Palawan.

Directions

Location Map
Bus:In Coron, there are several shuttle vans operating outside the Busuanga Airport terminal.
Metro:Palawan is the Philippines western-most province and home to most of the remaining virgin forests left in the country. It is also home to several species of wildlife found nowhere else, such as the tiny Calamian Deer, the Palawan Anteater and Palawan Bearcats. Palawan is called "The Philippines Last Frontier". Of the 7,107 islands comprising the Republic of the Philippines more than 2,500 are in Palawan Province. Coron is halfway between Manila and Palawan`s capital, Puerto Princesa. The main activity in Coron appears to be: nothing in particular, except waiting for the bananas and coconuts to become ripe and fall down. It is quite a different lifestyle compared to the famous "American way of life", and its really charming. The actual economic life of the Calamian Group of Islands is fishing and transportation of the fish to Manila.
Parking:There is no parking area inside KokosNuss Garden Resort but guests can park at the road outside the resort.
Sea port:KokosNuss is about 2 kilometers from the Port of Coron, which has now become a busy and modern port. Domestic vessels with passengers and conventional cargoes are handled at this port. Taking a ship to Coron from Manila or other parts of Palawan is an exciting and affordable way for you to travel, specially if you have heavy luggage and plenty of time to spare. The distances between the different islands are huge and boat schedules change frequently, meaning you may have to wait for a few nights in order to get your boat. The best shipping line you can take to Coron is the weekly "Superferry" from Manila or from Puerto Princesa City.
Location:KokosNuss Garden Resort is situated in Coron, Palawan. Coron is a quiet and beautiful town built along a rocky seashore between the mangrove forest. It is located on Busuanga Island, the largest island of the Calamianes. The Calamian Group of Islands is the farthest north of Palawan Province.
Airport:KokosNuss Garden Resort is about 22 kilometers away from Busuanga Airport. "Cebu Pacific", "Philippine Airlines", and "Zest Air" list their destination as Busuanga and transfer all arriving passengers from the Busuanga Airport to the nearby town of Coron. The scenic ride in an air-conditioned van takes only 35 minutes. All airlines offer daily flights to Coron (Busuanga) and back to Manila during the peak season from November until May.
