Customer Reviews Karlsruhe

I've stayed in many hostels and this had by far the most "institutional" feel. This is mainly due to the building - a rather grotty old big concrete box. But I'd have thought there could be changes made to make it feel more pleasant and comfortable and to help customers feel more welcome and at ease.

Too expensive and slow Internet. Too many beds in one room, no place to be.

We got virtually no sleep at all the night we stayed. We were kept awake by someone outs ide shouting to be let in (he claimed he had lost his keys). There were no on-site staff at the hostel overnight - they went off duty at midnight. There were also two very large school groups staying at the hostel. One group were extremely noisy in the hostel for much of the night with lots of banging on doors and shouting in the corridors. We complained about the lack of security in the morning and received a partial refund. The staff did their best in the situation but the organisation needs to improve its organisational arrangements to ensure this doesn't happen to future customers.
