The picturesque town of Kappeln is situated just before the point where the Schlei Fiord joints the Baltic Sea. The town centre with its historic building, mostly restored with care, and the narrow streets and steps, is very peaceful and has an almost cosy feel to it – especially in comparison to the sometimes noisy and hectic activity in the harbour.
From the youth hostel you have a spectacular view of Schlei Fjord and the town centre. The hostel, constructed in the 90s, is located close to the Baltic coast, the “Geltinger Birk” nature reserve, Schleswig and Haithabu.
