The hostel offers hot showers, breakfast and baggage storage, as well as an in-house travel agency called PUCARA-TOURS that will be happy to provide you with all kinds of information and offers you unforgettable 1 to 6 day excursions to the salt flat, colored lagoons, Inca mummies etc. The agency personnel speaks English.
Location:
We are 250m from the Bus-Terminal (Potosí or La Paz) or the Train Station (4 times per week: Tupiza-Villazon or Oruro) and 100m from the famous Clock Tower in the centre of the village - right in front of Migration office (important while leaving for Chile).

| Even though the hostal is in the middle of the desert, the way water was rationed was just a tad too much. The place is huge and has many showers, but almost all were locked. The one we were allowed into never provided hot water and were never cleaned during our three day stay. | ||

| We booked online thinking that being an HI hostel it would be nice, but it's not. When we arrived it took ages for anyone to open the door then inside we found the place to be dark and deserted with the water turned off and a sign on the shower door saying you need to ask the staff to unlock the door if you want to use it (but as they are impossible to locate - good luck with that).
We decided that although we had already paid, we would prefer to stay somewhere else and actually found two much nicer places just around the corner, one of which was cheaper and much better than this hostel.
I was really disappointed with this hostel as I though HI affiliation meant there would be a certain level of quality, but unfortunately not - any chance of a refund?

| The room was very cold, there was no heating and the blankets were insufficient. The showers were also cold and the toilets were dirty. The staff were unfriendly and refused to let us use the toilet after checking out.
Nice manners and friendliness go a long way and cost little.

| The worst hostel I've been in. | ||

| I have rated this entire property "very poor." How come? Because this isn't even a HI property!!! They had NO record of my reservation or deposit!!( I would like that money refunded, please) and claimed no association to the HI system (yet had the HI sign hanging above the door). According to the tourist police in Uyuni, this hostel's license to operate expired last year and they have not met the standards required to renew. I did not know this until after we left, unfortunately. If you DO want this property in your system I recommend a complete overhaul that includes adding running water to te toilets to keep people from defecating in the showers.
Anxiously awaiting your response, because it is mind boggling that this automated form even exists for this bogus property...

| The 11 o'clock curfew was annoying, and embarrassing when speaking to travellers staying at other hostels. Also there were no power points in the rooms, which is ridiculous. I would recommend this hostel to someone who doesn't use electricity or like going out in the evening. | ||

| Mi train reaches Uyuni at 1 am. Then I went to the hostel and a person treated me very badly, I think because I woke up. He asked me the reservation number but I lost the paper. He told me that if it could not let me sleep unless I leave him my documents. He's crazy? and I'll give my doucmetos, that's personal, and ill never give my documents to anybody but the police. Then I asked him a to give me a few minutes to take laptop and search the number, but he said that there is no wifi in Uyuni. I asked him if he let me use any coputer with internet but without saying a word, he opened the front door and asked me to go out. He left me in the street at 1am. I had to find another hostel at that time of night. It's the worst attention I received in a hostel. And I lost money of the reservation and HI service charge. | ||
