The Tergeste Youth Hostel isn't far from the Castello di Miramare, a very famous place in this area for its impressive historical legacy and for its spectacular view of the calm and clean Adriatic Sea. For a change, though, it's the underwater environment that is most interesting of all. You can take organized classes at the hostel that teach you about the sea so that you will better understand the complex world of the ocean depths. There are also trips to the nearby National Underwater Park. Outdoors types will love the trips to the Giant Cave. Of course, there's also Trieste to explore, a small but noble European capital.

| Beautiful location. Breakfast - hot rolls and coffee - gave me the caffeine fix I was after and kept me going til lunch. Appreciate the directions on finding the hostel. Look forward to staying here again. Very fine. | ||

| Location is far away from city center, but it's OK, as it is right in front of the sea and you have amazing sea views. The bus station is also near. The staffs are very nice. | The heat wasn't turned on so our room was freezing and we had to sleep in winter coats. The breakfast was free, but nevertheless disappointing -- 2 rolls and the worst coffee you will ever have in your life. | ||
