In the heart of Österlen, where the old stagecoach roads meet, is STF Skåne Tranås. The hostel is located in a genuine oriental village environment and is a half-timbered houses in the old cobbled square. Hostel buildings, facing the old mill pond.
It was just barely as the old water mill dating from the 1600s were rescued. Today the hostel of three buildings, the Mill, Smithy and tailoring. Renovations and new buildings are made of serious hands and with great care. Trout jump, therefore, still in the mill pond and bats circle of lamplight on summer evenings.
The hostel is an excellent starting point if you want to experience Österlen for a few days. The hilly countryside with old farmhouses, stately castles, fishing villages with the smell of tar, beautiful beaches and large apple orchards make Österlen a real gem in the Scanian idyll.
