Beautiful location, friendly staff, and great food! If you want a place for a retreat that's still just close enough to a city, then Matsuyama is the perfect place. Keep in mind this is not a hotel, so some may find the not being in the hostel from 10-4 annoying. Otherwise it's a quiet location and super close to several fantastic hiking areas. I loved the place and have every intention of returning there in the future.

I was happy with my stay here. It was a bit hard for me to locate, as it's up on a hill, and the toilets were a tad on the fragrant side, but the value was great and really enjoyed my stay overall.
