This hostel is a seasonal hostel, which means it is not open all year and has seasonal opening times. Please keep this is mind when checking availability. Lysefjorden Vandrerhjem sits right inside the Lysefjorden. The hostel has 22 rooms and 49 beds. All rooms have en-suite facilities. Lysefjorden is a starting point for many exciting trips, for instance to Kjerag, 7 km, or Nilsebu, 22 km. Impressive, wild nature with great contrasts is what makes this idyllic place what it is.

Lysefjorden Vandrerhjem is the perfect base for doing the hike to Kjerag and many other beautiful hikes.

Please note that our 4-bedded rooms are with 2 beds and mattresses on the loft. And therefore more suitable for two adults and two children than for adults only.

Due to this, the price on our online booking is for two adults and two children, and for our 3-bedded rooms the price is for two adults and one child.

If you would still like to book it for three or four adults, please send us an email and we will confirm your booking.

If you choose to book online, the additional charge will be added to your bill at arrival.

Please note that we have got two different offers on single rooms with two different prices. The one with the lower price is in an older building and the standard is not like our other rooms. Therefore you may choose a double room as a single room, but at a differency in the price.

When I arrived I had to go and find someone to check me in. They were all working in the kitchen. The next day while climbing I fell and dislocated my shoulder and had to be flown out from the hostel. They took all my luggage but did not put in my pillow. towel or bed linens. After having my shoulder reduced at the hospital I called to see if they could put my things on the 7am boat. The next morning I called and they had not been able to take them to the boat. I think that they are very understaffed.

One person of the staff gave us a lot of information considering possible trips, the other one was rather uninterested if we asked questions.

Hostel response:
Thank you for your comment. We are sorry that you had this experience with one of our collegues. Thank you for visiting us! All the best -the staff
