Just two miles from Harpers Ferry National Historic Park, this cozy lodge stands high on a bluff, overlooking the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. The hostel is perfect for visitors to the Civil War Battlefields of Western Maryland. ( Antietam, Catoctin, Monocacy). Washington, DC, Baltimore , MD and Gettysburg, PA are only an hour away. You can hike the Appalachian Trail, bicycle the C&O Canal, float down the river on an inner tube, raft or canoe. Use our equipment to play Frisbee, Volleyball, or Badminton. Relax beside the fireplace with a good book from our extensive library, or build a campfire outside for 'S'mores'.

The Contemporary American Theatre Festival and live music clubs are in nearby Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Both Amtrak (daily) and the MARC (workdays-only) provide train service to and from Washington DC's Union Station.

Location:	Across Potomac River from Harpers Ferry, WV, 16 miles west of Frederick, MD. Take U.S. Hwy. 340 to Keep Tryst Road. exit, then take first right on Sandy Hook Road.
Rail:	Harpers Ferry, WV AMTRAK / MARC Train Station. From the Harper's Ferry train station (MARC train) , turn left and walk to the foot bridge spanning the Potomac River. Cross the foot bridge and at the bottom of the bridge, turn right. Walk approx. 1.5+ miles until you are under the car traffic bridge (rt.340). There's a narrow, steep gravel foot path up towards the train tracks (WATCH for trains crossing!!!). Cross the tracks and then you will be on Sandy Hook Road. Turn right and a short walk up the road is the hostel.
Airport:	Baltimore / Washington International Airport (BWI). Take train to Washington DC, switch at Union Station to the MARC Brunswick Line. Get off in Brunswick, MD or Harpers Ferry, W.V.
