| Never dramt I would stay in a building that could be an antiquite museum... building was 1400's plus, massive pillars on verandah, marble sculptures on wall in reception, built like a traditional Italian large mansione , huge yards, kids playing football, ponds, fountains , you name it, it was beautiful, 500m walk to villa through forest from rd if you don't have a car .. lovely | ||

| The old villa and grounds are beautiful. The place was a madhouse of unsupervised kids and drunken young adults at night until 2- 3 AM both nights. There was no adult supervision and hostel staff did nothing to quiet the kids. The reception desk guy the night we arrived was deliberately rude as we checked in. The next days' staff was very nice and helpful. The bathroom was dirty and the toilet was unflushed when we arrived, so I know it had not been cleaned. The floor was never swept or mud removed. The beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal. Since the building is far from any restaurants, it was nice that the bar offered some hot food. However, drunken hostel guests were very noisy on the front porch, which is underneath rooms where people are trying to sleep..again, until 2:00 AM...It seems that hostel staff could explain and enforce rules for enjoyment and comfort of everyone. | ||

| Beautiful setting - the hostel is a converted Tuscan villa on the outskirts of the city. There is also a camping area below the hostel. I believe it's ideal for a long family vacation but not if you're in Florence for only a day or two and want to quickly see the city, as it is about 30min to the city center by bus. Can also understand why people complain about the long walk up to the hostel - I had a backpack so it didn't bother me much but it might be a bit unpleasant in the heat of summer if you have heavy suitcases. I stayed in the hostel in April and had an 8-man dorm to myself, which I loved, and the hostel was very quite apart from a school group or 2 who stayed there.
The breakfast was average, but edible. The staff were unfriendly and sometimes downright ruid... | ||

| Bad location, far from the Santa Maria Novella station and all the attractions of the city. To get to the hostel, there is a road over one kilometer with a gruesome pavement. It is virtually impossible to come with suitcases, will be lucky to get there all her suitcase, which did not happen to me. Most of the day, the bathroom is with a bad smell and many papers scattered across the floor. The wireless internet did not connect on my phone and not on the computer, I ask for assistance at the front desk and received the reply: I am a very ignorant to this. I can not help you. The cabinets do not have a lock and even a place where I could put a padlock.

| Not a bad place to stay for the price. breakfast is ok, room could be bigger. the shared showers feels a bit insecure. What's really annoying is that the lights in the shower keeps turning off every 15 min or so, I guess that's to save energy. Other than that, just keep telling yourself it's a villa your staying at. | ||

| I always stay with hostels on my trips. Staff at hostels have always been helpful and ready to give tips on travelling and otherwise. To my disway this was not the case with this one. I was quite disappointed. The staff was most unhelpful and unfriendly (except for one woman who was on duty late evening)
It was nice villa with good surroundings so that makes up for the inconvienient location and the 500m walk up to the building.
The cleanliness was alrght but when i looked under the bed to retrieve something that had fallen it was disgusting to see piles of dust collecting underneath
