You will never forget a holiday in Florence, all the more so if you choose the Youth Hostel " Villa Camerata" as a base for your city stay. The hostel indeed is a gorgeous villa of the 17th century surrounded by a huge park with high trees and enriched with a precious Italian garden with rare botanic species planted by the former owners. The Hostel offers a wide selection of services to its guests, whereas the city centre with all its attractions ( Uffizi Gallery, Piazza della Signoria etc ) can be easily reached.

The hostel Villa Camerata is a gorgeous villa of the 15th century decorated with stucco and frescoes and equipped with all modern comforts, surrounded by a huge park, away from the noise of the town but very close to the city center that can be easily reached by bus.

Villa Camerata is located at the bottom of the hill of Fiesole (beautiful village famous for the roman theatre and the archaeological museum), close to a public swimming pool, the soccer stadium and the Nelson Mandela forum that hosts important concerts, theater performances and cultural events.

The hostel offers the following wide selection of services to its guests: breakfast, dinner, bar, meeting rooms, satellite Tv, internet point (only 1 Euro per hour) and FREE WI-FI, public telephones, table tennis, table soccer, cinema, washing machines and dryers, telephone cards, city and tourist sight-seeing bus tickets, reservations for other hostels of the Association, reservations for tours in Florence and Tuscany, credit card payments, safe for valuables, parking and camping.

Apart from enjoying the relaxation in the garden and the entertainment offered by the hostel, here it's possible to meet young people and make friends from all over the world.

In the Hostel you will find a variety of offers regarding guided tours of: Florence and its worldwide famous museums, palaces and gardens, the most important towns in Tuscany (Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Volterra...), the most famous medieval villages (Monteriggioni, Certaldo...), the picturesque Tuscan countryside (Chianti, Casentino, Crete senesi...). And furthermore: samples and/or wine and food courses (wine tasting, cooking course..) or cultural tours (typical Florentine workshops) or shopping (the most fashionable shops in town and outskirts' outlets).

The hostel offers various possibilities of accommodation: from the classic bed in a 4 beds dorm in separate males and females sections to single, twin, double, triple and quad private rooms with or without bathroom. We also have double or single rooms with bathroom in our camping or much space outdoor if you are well equipped.

Never dramt I would stay in a building that could be an antiquite museum... building was 1400's plus, massive pillars on verandah, marble sculptures on wall in reception, built like a traditional Italian large mansione , huge yards, kids playing football, ponds, fountains , you name it, it was beautiful, 500m walk to villa through forest from rd if you don't have a car .. lovely

The old villa and grounds are beautiful. The place was a madhouse of unsupervised kids and drunken young adults at night until 2- 3 AM both nights. There was no adult supervision and hostel staff did nothing to quiet the kids. The reception desk guy the night we arrived was deliberately rude as we checked in. The next days' staff was very nice and helpful. The bathroom was dirty and the toilet was unflushed when we arrived, so I know it had not been cleaned. The floor was never swept or mud removed. The beds were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was minimal. Since the building is far from any restaurants, it was nice that the bar offered some hot food. However, drunken hostel guests were very noisy on the front porch, which is underneath rooms where people are trying to sleep..again, until 2:00 AM...It seems that hostel staff could explain and enforce rules for enjoyment and comfort of everyone.

Beautiful setting - the hostel is a converted Tuscan villa on the outskirts of the city. There is also a camping area below the hostel. I believe it's ideal for a long family vacation but not if you're in Florence for only a day or two and want to quickly see the city, as it is about 30min to the city center by bus. Can also understand why people complain about the long walk up to the hostel - I had a backpack so it didn't bother me much but it might be a bit unpleasant in the heat of summer if you have heavy suitcases. I stayed in the hostel in April and had an 8-man dorm to myself, which I loved, and the hostel was very quite apart from a school group or 2 who stayed there. The breakfast was average, but edible. The staff were unfriendly and sometimes downright ruid...

Bad location, far from the Santa Maria Novella station and all the attractions of the city. To get to the hostel, there is a road over one kilometer with a gruesome pavement. It is virtually impossible to come with suitcases, will be lucky to get there all her suitcase, which did not happen to me. Most of the day, the bathroom is with a bad smell and many papers scattered across the floor. The wireless internet did not connect on my phone and not on the computer, I ask for assistance at the front desk and received the reply: I am a very ignorant to this. I can not help you. The cabinets do not have a lock and even a place where I could put a padlock.

Not a bad place to stay for the price. breakfast is ok, room could be bigger. the shared showers feels a bit insecure. What's really annoying is that the lights in the shower keeps turning off every 15 min or so, I guess that's to save energy. Other than that, just keep telling yourself it's a villa your staying at.

I always stay with hostels on my trips. Staff at hostels have always been helpful and ready to give tips on travelling and otherwise. To my disway this was not the case with this one. I was quite disappointed. The staff was most unhelpful and unfriendly (except for one woman who was on duty late evening) It was nice villa with good surroundings so that makes up for the inconvienient location and the 500m walk up to the building. The cleanliness was alrght but when i looked under the bed to retrieve something that had fallen it was disgusting to see piles of dust collecting underneath
