Trace the tale as you wander around the village, or enjoy the excellent walking trails in the surrounding White and Dark Peak. Delicious home-cooked meals are available at this fully licensed hostel. | would have liked some advance warning about the distance between public transport and the hostel - almost a mile, all up a steep hill, with 60lbs of baggage, at 9pm, for a 70 year old female....
No public telephone, no wifi, how do travelers access the outside world? As a Canadian, I was concerned about not letting anyone know I'd arrived safely. | ||

| This is our first experience of YHA. We take our 2 female grandchildren with us, so we required two rooms. We joined YHA when we booked. I am 67 my husband is 76. We were not told that we would have bank beds. The room we were given had a low beam over the ladder to get to the top bunk. Our grandchildren saw the room and offered to swap. We paid £48 per room per night. I did comment aswe left that had we been given the information about bunk beds we would have gone somewhere else. Having a numbers of hotal chain loyalty cards we could have stayed at a number of 4 star hotels for a better price. Would we do it again. Well I would ask better questions next time about the sleeping arrangements. | ||
