Walking, well-being and welcome back! That’s the motto of Bad Schandau, the spa town made up of the areas of Ostrau, Postelwitz, Schmilka and Krippen, in the heart of the “Saxon Switzerland” region with its 1200km network of paths for slow or brisk walks and exciting outings. The enchanting landscape of this national park offers a rich flora and fauna, bizarre sandstone rocks, narrow gorges, vertiginous climbs and spectacular views from high lookouts. The spa with its therapeutic facilities provides well-being, in particular the famous “Toskana-Therme” attracting thousands of visitors every year. Bad Schandau is the oldest spa resort in Saxon Switzerland with a long tradition, complemented by modern pampering and beauty facilities. The National Park Centre in Bad Schandau provides a multimedia show with information about the region of “Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland”. The youth hostel is located in two renovated houses in the peaceful area of Ostrau and offers a mobile home site.

People of 27 years or over pay a surcharge of €3 per night.

Surcharge for single and twin rooms p. p. p. n. (subject to availability): Single: €10 Twin: €4 (doesn’t apply to group guides);

Rebate for children: Up to 2 years free of charge, 3 – 13 years 30% rebate;

Group rebate: For a group of 20 paying customers another one totally free (accommodation, sheets and meals at the YH).
