Customer Reviews Istanbul - Cordial House

| Cordial House has been the best hostel so far ! We really did enjoy our stay in this lovely hostel. All we need for a comfortable stay in a hostel Cordial House offered. The locatin is amazing, right in the middle of the hictorical part, Sultanahmet but enough far away being in the tourist places, that is what makes Cordial House a unique accommodation, you are close to everything but too far from any hassle. The rooms were cleaned daily, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was really large compared with other YH stayed before. I will definetlly choose Cordial House if I return to Istanbul. | ||

| The location was about the best thing about this hostel. I do not remember it as being particularly unforgetable. | ||

| One desk worker was very argumentative with all the guests and approached all questions as antagonistic and seemed to actually WANT to argue. Also, not even for a fee would they allow a former guest to take a shower in the shared bathroom after checkout ( before the flight). The hostel did not include a top sheet on the bed, only a bottom sheet so you had to sleep on the bed and be cold at night without anything to put on you. Finally there were no lockers or anything to lock our belongings in. The luggage room wad fight nexo to the door and wad aleáis unlocked so I did not feel secure leasing my baga there. | ||

| The staff was fabulous and very kind - they were what made the visit so special! Comfort was as good as one can expect from a youth hostel. I would go back anytime.

| Despite the average rating I've given this hostel, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anybody coming to Istanbul. The staff isn't overly friendly, but they are always there to answer questions. The common room is comfortable and spacious, and there is also a big dining room. The kitchen is poorly equipped, but Istanbul is so cheap that I would recommend just eating out. The location is ideal, with a supermarket right next door. All the main sights are a short walk away, and we felt completely safe strolling down there the evening we arrived. Also very well connected to public transport. Bring your own sheet to cover yourself as not provided, but otherwise rooms are nice, clean and airy, and the bathrooms are also of a good standard. Poor security rating because they have no lockers, so your choice is to leave your valuables in the rooms, and trust that none of your fellow travelers are thieves, or take them with you, which is annoying. That said, we didn't have any problems. | ||

| the only thing that I didn't like was there was only ONE KEY for the room | ||
