An ideal base for exploring the north of Skye, Uig Hostel offers fantastic views over the bay, good facilities and a warm welcome. Uig is the gateway to the Outer Hebridean Islands and ferries leave daily. The Pinnacles of the Quiraing, the famous Old Man of Storr and the magical Fairy Glen are all close by.

| Once again, we're puzzled by need for "segregated dorms"- this disrupts routines (eg sharing toiletries) for families or groups of friends. No other hostel (incl other HI locations) required this. It seems rather "quaint" but is inappropriate and diruptive, unless of course guests specifically ask for this.

Very cold everywhere - you think twice before going to shower.
No sockets in rooms, even in privat rooms. I wonder how they heat rooms in winter. | ||

| There seemed to be only one women's lavatory, which was also the only shower. That did not seem at all sufficient. It was otherwise quite good, and in a lovely location. | ||
