With the spectacular Cuillin Mountains on its doorstep, Glenbrittle Youth Hostel is a great place to spend a few peaceful days. Exposed and sculpted by millions of years of erosion, the Black Cuillins are the remains of the heart of an ancient volcano system, with the lava flows forming the rest of Skye to the north. The geology of the area is unique in Britain. You can go walking and climbing, or just sit back and enjoy this wonderful rugged scenery - you don't need to climb a Munro to appreciate the amazing views. You can see waterfalls, lochs, beaches, fairy pools and the Islands of Rhum, Eigg, Muck, Soay, Canna and Uist, all without taking your hands out of your pockets! Also not too far away and worth visiting: Dunvegan Castle, Talisker Whisky distillery at Carbost, Glendale Toy Museum, Colbost Croft Museum.

| Loved our stay at Glenbrittle! Stayed 2 nights. The lone staff member, Louise, was friendly and helpful with offering advice on the surrounding area for suitable hikes for myself and my daughter. She does a brilliant job!!! Hold on to her! | ||
