| Staff struggled to be friendly. Room heating wasn't working and st6aff were slow to deal with it. Eventually we were offered a new room. When we enquired about breakfast options we were not encouraged to eat in but to go elsewhere [which naturally we did]
The least friendly and helpful IH hostel we've stayed in

| It takes about 20 minutes on foot from a bus station and a rail station.
It is old, although the institution is large.

| Good accommodation and location - within easy walking distance to city centre - room was unfortunately beside a toilet ensuite so was very noisy throughout the night :-( | ||

| Price/Quality comparatively good and also an excellent location.
A fine experience again after 55 years membership

| I stayed in a private room for two people for one night. I would say the beds are far from comfort, but the kitchen is huge and clean. | ||

| We stayed in a family room - it was a bit noisy during the night. The facilities were great and we had a good stay overall. | ||

| Although Inverness hostel lacks the character of some of the more remote hostels, it's well positioned and operates well as a busy city hostel. | ||

| Most staff are friendly. Good hostel facility (e.g. Internet, laundry), and good value for money.
15 min walk from bus & train station, but not many people know where the place is. There's a shorter & easy to walk (around 15 min) and a longer & winding route (25-30 min) to the hostel, so make sure you are on the right way, ask for the way to the Morrison supermarket and gas station.
