Kaamanen is an authentic, traditional Lappish village located in the municipality of Inari. The nature in Kaamanen is breathtakingly beautiful and diverse.
Hostel Jokitörmä is located on the beautiful river Kaamasjoki, with magnificent views of the river and the fells nearby. The hostel is surrounded by the clean Lappish nature, wide fishing waters, forests full of berries and cloudberry bogs.
Kaamanen has good connections to Norway in three directions: Karigasniemi is just 70 kilometres (44 miles), Nuorgam 130 kilometres (81 miles) and Näätämö 130 kilometres (81 miles) from Kaamanen.
Guests are accommodated all year round in the main building’s 2-5-bed rooms and in summer also in log cottages. The bedrooms in the main building share a living room with a kitchen and a toilet. There are also a camping site and a number of caravan places in the area. Close to the cottages you will find a self-catering kitchen, sauna and toilets and showers, as well as a camp fireplace, a Lappish hut kota and a children’s play area.
Jokitörmä is surrounded by a variety of possibilities for recreation: you can choose from fishing, exercising, hiking, bird watching and picking berries and mushrooms. In winter the area offers great opportunities for cross-country skiing, ice-fishing and snowmobiling.
