The Hostel is in a new building and is ideally located for those who want to do hiking tours in the National park in Skaftafell, visit Jökulsárlón, go to Laka or Landmannalaugur. In the surroundings of the hostel you can find many species of birds and hiking trails. The guestkitchen at the hostel is very well equipped. Next supermarket is 25 km away. Next Hostels: Vík, 95 km - Vagnsstaðir, 110 km.

| Nice clean purpose built place in rather quiet peaceful setting. After having wifi access in other overnite stays it was disappointing not to have any available here.
Pretty much no contact with any staff as book-in separate house and no staff sighted in actual hostel so no-one to ask about anything. | ||

| Hostel was very clean with a large kitchen. My one gripe was with the unfriendly staff. When we checked in we paid for the room and linens in advance. We were then handed a pile of sheets that did not even fit the bed, with no towels. When we asked for towels we were told it would be another 400 ISK per night (and the towels weren't even good).
The other hostels and guesthouses included towels in their price for linens -- what a ripoff! They could have at least mentioned that towels were not included before taking our money. | ||
