Situated on the upper slopes of Mount Davis, this is the only hostel on Hong Kong Island. It offers superb views of Victoria Harbour and is 5km from Ocean Park. There is a capacity for 163 guests and facilities include air-conditioning, BBQ, TV, laundry and self-catering kitchen.

For better hosteller experience, extensive renovation will be carried out at the Hostel starting from 1 Feb 2012 and lasted for about 6 months. The Hostel will maintain in service as usual yet customers are suggested to make early bookings as limited number of beds will be provided during the renovation. To ensure a quiet environment for hostellers, all construction works will only be scheduled from 8am to 6pm everyday. We apologize for any inconvenience.

you won't get to the hostel without shuttle or taxi just because is in the top of the mountain but with stunning view. Dorm is not cozy and a little bit cold and kotchen doesn't seem to be clean. but if you wanna spend most of your time outside of the hostel it might be good choice.

Location was poor, only access to leave the hostel was to take a shuttle bus. No internet access or it was working poorly. Heating inside the dormitory was not adequate. No heating in the shower rooms.

Shuttle bus is a joke, buildings clearly haven't had a penny spent on them since they were built, you're wasting an excellent site, hkyha is an embarresment.

It feels like the owners feel that if they've got the best location in HK, they are not expected to provide all other kinds of services. Paying for electric adapters in international hostel, getting terribly dirty and unfurnished room with old and scaring beds is incredible both for this money and for international hostel approach itself. Really dissatisfied with the hostel=((

The Internet wasn't working for anyone that night, despite the manager's claim that it was. Maybe it usually doesn't work. The facilities are really uncomfortable - old and with a feeling similar to a smelly high school locker room or public sports center. It takes 30-50 minutes to walk to the top of the hill where the hostel is, and already the entrance at the bottom of the hill is pretty far from the subway etc. The walk would also be dangerous as it is a very narrow winding road which you share with cars that are trying to go as fast as possible, and with cliffs below you. There is no place to go when you are the hostel, no place to buy food or soap or anything, either you wait for the shuttle bus which comes every two or three hours, or you walk down. Taking a taxi from the nearest subway stop costs 70 Hong Kong dollars, and it can be hard to find taxis because the drivers are afraid of World War II ghosts. I think there are no hiking paths.
