Experience the inspiration behind J.R.R. Tolkien’s “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit,” and visit South Africa’s very own mystical fairytale land. This perfectly located and very relaxed backpackers commands a stunning view of the Hogsback mountains, part of the Amatola range in South Africa’s Eastern Cape Province. It’s an ideal place to kick back and relax, or wander through the forest to the nearby waterfalls with beautiful hiking trails starting in the back garden.
Perched on the edge of a cliff, The “Fairies” commands the best views of the Hogsback Mountains and indigenous forests in the area.
We offer accommodation to suit almost every need, from En-suite Cottages to dorms and camping.
Striders Cottage, which sleeps 14 people in en-suite rooms, is on the adjoining property and is ideal for groups.
The Wizard’s Sleeve is our lively bar and we also offer breakfasts and pizzas.
We also have the worlds scariest tree-house, a swimming pool and a bath tub perched on the edge of our cliff, next to the abseiling all with staggering views. We offer some of the best Mountain Biking and Rock Climbing in South Africa.
