The youth hostel is surrounded by the ruins of the castle on Schlossberg Mountain. Surrounded by vineyards and woods, it offers spectacular views of the town and the Rhine valley. Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Heidelberg, Mannheim and Speyer are a 40 – 60 min drive away.
Surrounded by vineyards, the youth hostel is situated on Schlossberg Mountain above the town of Heppenheim with its half-timbered houses and beautiful historic centre. This location and the fabulous surroundings make it an ideal base for people who love nature (access to one of the largest deciduous forests in Hesse) and the arts since many big and medium sized cities such as Darmstadt, Worms, Weinheim, Heidelberg , Mannheim, Speyer, Karlsruhe, Frankfurt and Mainz boasting loads of culture are within a 30-60 min drive. Heppenheim is known for its consistently mild climate and fine wines. It is one of the warmest places in Germany.
