Set in the small scenic village of Helmsdale, halfway between Inverness and John o'Groats. The hostel has excellent facilities and is ideal for cycling, coastal walks, hill walks and birdwatching. Backpackers, birdwatchers and families are welcome.

| Only spoiled by having the loudest snorer ever in the dorm. Several of our dorm had to sleep on sofa's in communial area as a result. | ||

| There is no parking on site, there is parking on a very narrow road where traffic comes and can quite easily collide with your car. Very busy road nearby. Curfew throughout whole hostel off 1030 and very unfriendly staff | ||
