I'm not sure where the other people who were complaining about this hostel were talking about. The rooms were clean and even though we were in a room a bit old it was fine. The staff friendly and helpful. The only problem with this place is that it is two km walk from the ferry and center. That's ok if you have transport but if you have a big pack on and decide to walk, it's quite a hike. Other than the location, an excellent experience here. The view is amazing and that give credit for your walk to the hostel. The breakfast was nice.

there are new blocks - good views but spartan the common areas were terrible - the kitchens dirty and unkept

although reception was supposed to open at 5pm, the staff member casually sauntered up at almost 5:30 with no explanation or apology about keeping me and other guests wanting to check in waiting. room was quite old and bunks were very low (couldn't even sit up on the bed). it's a fair way up the hill from town in a big complex. there was a very good common area though and breakfast was great. there was only one key that I and the other person in my room had to share which was inconvenient at times.

What I was really disappointed with was the hype on the website that misled me on the availability of excursions near to the hostels. Turned out that there was nothing to do in the area apart from taking the Geirangerfjord ferry.

The name hostel hardly fit the required price which was outrageous in respect with was was much lower than the experience of any cabin lodging in the country. There is not even one electric plug for charging phones, computers or cameras. Breakfast experience in the army would easily compete with what we found. Any place else would be recommended.

Room and location was ok, but: most of the time no toilet paper on toilets, guest kitchen was a mess ( no drying towels, no real dishes and very dirty!), breakfast was ok but on the second day there was a bus right before we had breakfast -> no juice, sugar and milk left!!!
