| Location: | The hostel is about 5 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge. From the SOUTH: Take 101 North over the Golden Gate Bridge and exit on Alexander Avenue. Take a left onto Bunker Road until you come to a one-way tunnel. Drive through when prompted and then follow the directions under "From the Tunnel" below. From the NORTH: Take 101 South to the second exit for Sausalito (this is the final exit before you hit the Golden Gate Bridge). As you come off the exit, take a right toward Sausalito and then take the first left you encounter. At the one-way tunnel, drive through when prompted and then follow the directions under "From the Tunnel" below. From the TUNNEL: When you are out of the tunnel drive 2 miles west into the Headlands. At the fork in the road (Field Road), take a left and then follow the signs to the hostel. |

| no towels in room or linen closet. Would be nice to have an earlier check-in so you're not arriving at dinner time. 2pm would be a better time especially if somebody is traveling all day to get to the hostel. Hostel response: | ||

| A bit difficult for an older disabled woman to climb up on top of the bunk but I did it as I didn't want my friend who is also disabled more than I to climb up top. Also a sponge was needed in the kitchen. Greeting committee ( 3 raccoons) were a bit unfriendly. Somebody's been feeding the wildlife human food. Had a great time meeting new people. Loved the views. Will definately be back. Hostel response: | ||

| It was a pretty nice stay and I enjoyed the location a lot!
But there is one thing the staff should figure out a solution: I love the way to say "We don't provide wifi so people sit together talking to each other" But if you altready stay so far out of everything and you wanna plan your trip downtown, for instance, it is annoying that you cannot figure out anything or you have to sit downstairs in the cold basement, paying a lot for internet! For myself: I hate if everybody just sits in front of their computers but sometimes you really need some information..I don't know a solution but thats someting to improve! Hostel response:

| The front desk got a little backed up when there was only 1 person working. The staffers were all friendly though.
The lack of cell service is of concern. I like to hike/explore (and I was travelling alone) and would appreciate the security of having a cell phone signal in case I need to call for help. Hostel response:

| Given I am 66 y.o. and given I have to go to the bathroom 5-7 times/night and given I often cannot 'hold it' for longer than a minute or so, I feel strongly there should be both a men's and a women's bathroom on each floor. Or perhaps the bathrooms could be co-ed. So many restrooms across the world are. I used the women's upstairs and was treated like a child molester, feared and yelled at by an adult women which was, simply, inappropriate. Hostel response: | ||
