Located in a sunny, welcoming college town on California's Central Coast, we are a convenient stay midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. Bus:	Both Greyhound and Amtrak buses use the Amtrak station which is located one block away. Walk North on Santa Rosa for one block. We are on the left at 1617 Santa Rosa St.
Parking:	We have limited parking available behind the hostel, and there is street parking which is free, safe, and available 24/7.
Location:	From San Francisco: Take US-101 South. Take the exit toward SANTA ROSA ST in San Luis Obispo. Turn RIGHT onto CA-1/ SANTA ROSA ST. Continue to follow SANTA ROSA ST. End at 1617 Santa Rosa St on right. From Monterey/Santa Cruz/Cambria: Hwy. 1 South becomes Santa Rosa St. as you enter San Luis Obispo. End at 1617 Santa Rosa St on right. From L.A.: Take US-101 North. Take the MARSH ST exit, EXIT 202A. Proceed Straight on MARSH ST. Turn RIGHT onto SANTA ROSA ST. End at 1617 Santa Rosa St on right.
Rail:	Amtrak is located one block away. Walk North on Santa Rosa for one block. We are on the left at 1617 Santa Rosa St.
Airport:	About 3 miles from San Luis Airport, 200 miles from Los Angeles or San Francisco airports. From SLO Airport make a left out of airport onto Broad Street, right on Santa Barbara (major intersection with fire station on right), right on Islay, right on Santa Rosa Street.

i felt like there was a lot of staff presence/drama. there was an older male staff member who just was kinda a know it all and just sort of off putting. I say tis cautiously because staff and there presence, experience etc is one of my favorite things about hostiles. And Jarred was OUTSTANDING, but it felt like he was working twice as hard as anyone else....and everyone else was dead weight for him... it made me want to fold sheets with him and work myself.

Metal bunk beds are a bad idea as they squeak (loudly) every time someone moves. The bathrooms smell strongly of mold.

Hi San Luis Obispo is one of my favorite hostels in California. It offers a friendly atmosphere and I literally feel like family when I visit. The staff is friendly and welcoming.
