Staff did not subtract deposit paid online from final bill. Parking is difficult, especially when arriving and departing because people misuse the temporary spots out front.

Hostel response:
We apologize for the billing confusion and will look into it immediately. Thank you for alerting us to this issue, and for your review. -HI San Diego Downtown

A little loud but otherwise a very nice hostel

Hostel response:
Thanks for the review. Our noise level unfortunately, or fortunately, goes hand in hand with our great location. Currently, we offer earplugs at our front desk for free, and if you call us ahead of time, we can book you a quieter room. Thanks again. HI San Diego Downtown

I lived in a dorm-like room. Sometimes, people might be inconsiderate and try to turn on the light early in the morning or late at night. But you can consider adding some individual lights on each bed. They're like those on the plane and each passenger gets their own light. This might help to reduce disturbances to other people.

Hostel response:
This is a wonderful suggestion, and we are currently looking into this. We are trying to decide between hand held lights, or bunk lights. We should have one of the options soon. Thank you very much for your comments and review. We hope to see you next time. -HI San Diego Downtown

Well, like I said, there were nothing to watch TV at the TV/Common Room last December 30, 2011 through January 02, 2012. Why? Because the light bulb for the projector was severely/completely broken, until it was replaced after I checked out at this Hostel in Downtown San Diego, California.

Hostel response:
We apologize for the projector issues. We have replaced the bulb and we have plenty of back ups at this point, so everything should be fine when you return later this year. Thanks for the review and comments. -HI San Diego Downtown
