Some of the female staff weren't very friendly. However, great hostel, home from home.

I really enjoyed my time in San Diego of course include HI-hostel Point Loma! Amazing morning pancakes and tea, coffee, lovely rooms, friendly stuff, I spent very relaxeble time. Since I didn't have a car, I felt a little inconvinient about transportation (No service on Sunday). So I want to visit here again, someday, with a car:) Thank you!

This is a great hostel! I was impressed by the number of families staying when I was there and by the friendly staff. The only issue with the hostel is it's location near the airport, you will hear the jets taking off every morning around 6:30am. Other than being near the airport the location was great.

The room I stayed in was very hot. At ~10pm of my arrival, interestingly it had both the fan going and the heater emitting heat. Either it was broken and cannot be shut off, or it was left on. Needless to say it was a comfortable stay. But I give it credit that otherwise it would of been a comfortable experience.

We loved this hostel, and really enjoyed our stay there. Minor quibbles with the size of the room (nowhere to put luggage, or hooks for towels, for example), but communal space and facilities were great. Loved the outdoor space too.

we were there prior and during annual inspection. although the facility was painted, the restrooms/showers were in need of disinfecting and deep cleaning. I can recommend products and procedures...but over all was a great place and we enjoyed our stay

It has been my 2nd stay in Point Loma. I was happy to return after more than 2 years. Sadly the blonde young girl at the reception was totally anoyed the entire time and very unfriendly. When reporting that the bathrooms are very very dirty she told us, that she is not the housekeeping at that we should fill in a comment card, instead to informing the housekeeping. In total the location kitchen, bathrooms, staff friendliness seems to have been extremly run down. I am very disapoited from my last stay. The previous (years ago) has been fantastic - but the last was so very poor.
