Set in a historic house of much charm, the hostel is in the heart of town near many attractions including the Rivière-du-Loup waterfalls. We really enjoyed our stay at Rivière du Loup and this was our second visit. The communal meal at 7pm was great with good food and interesting folks at the table. I liked the double room in the back of the building more than the double on the top floor which gets very hot in summer. We WILL stay at this hostel again! It has terrific staff!

This was one of the BEST hostels we've ever stayed at! The staff made sure that we were welcomed from the moment we stepped in the door. A full tour of the facilities was given so we had few if any questions. The kitchen was inviting, beautifully equiped and organized and our private room accommodations were beyond our expectations for the price. The optional evening meals prepared by the staff chefs and served family style made our stay at Riviere du Loup have more the feel of belonging than most hostels offer. We loved it so much that we added a day to our stay and were sad to leave. Much praise for a well-deserving group! ~Janice and Randy Cooke

Overall friendly experience in rambling house. Quiet private rooms but a few flights up if you have luggage. You can join grou dinners for fee or make your own. Staff plans fun evening activities.

A delightful place to rest and enjoy the country. Friendly helpful staff and a happy multicultural atmosphere. got to practise and improve my pathetic French.
