| It felt like being at home! Only disadvantage is that the lockers aren't located in the dorms but outside in a shed which makes it difficult storing your stuff. | ||

| Real people, real dandy deal of the perks delight. I chose to return because of the eco-emphasis and neighborhood feel. This kept in perfect sinc with the Dalai Lama's speaking engagement about ecological depths and the future of the planet. Sure wish you could give a compliment out to them for tolerating my stay in the living room a bit. I can't read real books, just light reading, so it was kinda awkward for them. Good luck ya'll. michele | ||

| This is a beautiful hostel in a beautiful location. While it's always difficult to sleep in a dorm especially with a snorer, the low cost and opportunity to meet people from all over the country and world far outweigh the need to wear earplugs!

| Great service the entire time. Staff was happy to make recommendations on where to look for nightlife and activities. Strong coffee in the morning was really wonderful. | ||

| In some ways, certainly the better of the two HI hostels I stayed at in Portland. Stayed four days based on its location and its sustainable and eco-friendly practices. The common areas and free internet are great, as is the bike rental option. My only gripes with the place is the short door in the men's basement toilet. A minor gripe, I suppose, but enough to warrant a frown from this traveler. | ||

| I won't say I'd never stay here again, but I do feel that the room I booked was not what was provided. I reserved a 4-person room, but what I got was a basement room where approximately 16 people were staying. I imagine they get to call it such because the basement is segmented into a few different sections. Upon entering there is a room, split into two alcoves with 4 beds on one side and 4 on the other. Walking through there you reach a door which leads to the 2nd section where there are another 8 or so beds. I can't rightly say as my bed wasn't in that section, so I never explored. I stayed in the 2nd alcove, completely open to those passing through, but I managed a rough numbers count at 3AM. | ||
