| I stayed at HI hostels throughout the Eat Coast and Apple Hostels was my favorite one. It was the perfect size, the perfect location, the staff was awesome, and the facilities and events offered were great. I will definitely come back if I'm ever in Philly again | ||

| I had a wonderful time staying at Apple Hostel in Philadelphia. The staff were very friendly, as were many of the other travelers. My advice to any hostel traveler, always talk to fellow travelers! You will no doubt have an even greater experience that way. | ||

| Overall my experience was excellent. It was by far the best hostel in the US I have stayed at. My only issue was that male staff walked into the female dorm without knocking to turn off lights at lights out time. No one was in the process of undressing at that moment but it could have been very embarrassing. Hostel response: Thank you for the comment regarding a male staff member who entered the female dorm room to turn off the lights. Yesterday (May 14th) we moved the light switch from the middle of the room to the entrance so our employees no longer have to enter the dorm room to turn off the lights. Normally our male staff will knock before entering the female dorm room, I'm assuming because of the late hour he either didn't knock or knocked very lightly so as not to wake anyone up who may have already been sleeping. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay with us! | ||

Hostel response: I'm so happy that you loved our staff and our hostel. We don't offer breakfast at our hostel every day of the week because we offer free things in the evenings instead to help our guests socialize. We have a free pasta dinner on Wednesdays, a free open bar from 8 pm to 9 pm on Thursdays before our free pub crawl, free wine and cheese on Fridays and free beer every other night. If you come back be sure to make your reservation next time on www.applehostels.com which has our lowest rates and we don't charge a deposit or a booking fee. | ||

| The only thing that I wish had been different is that the kitchen and eating area wouldn't close at 10:30 am. Hostel response: The kitchen and dining area are only closed for 30 minutes from 10:30 am to 11:00 am for cleaning. As soon as housekeeping is done everything is accessible again. If we didn't clean the kitchen every day you would have said "I love that the kitchen is always available, but I wish it wasn't so dirty". ;-) I'm happy that you enjoyed everything else! Next time be sure to book through our own website www.applehostels.com where our rates are lower and we don't charge a deposit or a booking fee! | ||

| This little gem of a hostel is the best travel stop-over ever. So clean and attractive, the modern apple-green decor provides a boutique hotel feel. The large ladies dorm room is spotless and spaciously laid out, with adjoining modern bath facility for all (28 roommates!). The huge kitchen is spotlessly clean, modern, and has every utensil possible with a great six-burner modern stove. The hostel offers wonderful "freebies" like 24-hour great coffee and Wed. night pasta dinner (yum!). A fabulous "extra" in the communal t.v. room is several big binders full of menus from local and center-city restaurants. A marvelous idea to save us time, instead of stumbling around on our own looking for who knows what. The cheerful staff (Bradley on night shift) are great kids, very helpful with answers and extra info tips. They make Apple Hostel the best experience ever. | ||

| Just wish they would have hotter water in the showers! and breakfast other than Fri-sat-sun! Hostel response: I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay! I have a feeling that you maybe didn't turn the handle in the shower far enough towards the Hot end, because we've never ever run out of hot water. We have twice the capacity of hot water needed for everyone even when we're completely full. Instead of providing cheap breakfast every morning we have free things in the evenings such as a free past dinner on Wednesdays, free open bar on Thursdays before our free pub crawl, free wine and cheese on Fridays and free beer every other night. The next time you come to Philadelphia be sure to make your reservation through our own website www.applehostels.com which has our lowest rates and we don't charge a deposit or a booking fee. | ||
